The Administrative Officers Forum has resumed activities after a five-year break, inducting 151 officers into the Administrative Officers Cadre of the Delta State Civil Service.
The induction followed a two-day orientation programme in Asaba for officers converted between 2021 and 2024. The event was led by the Delta State Head of Service, Mininim Oseji, and attended by former Heads of Service, as well as serving and retired Permanent Secretaries and other senior officials.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Oseji congratulated the newly inducted officers, describing the Administrative Officers Cadre as both prestigious and central to effective governance. She said their elevation reflected the trust placed in them to provide leadership across Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
She urged them to strictly observe Public Service Rules and Financial Regulations, maintain proper documentation, and uphold transparency, accountability and professionalism, while remaining politically neutral and loyal to government policies. She added that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s backing of the induction aligns with his administration’s MORE Agenda and underscores renewed expectations for the civil service.
Chairman of the Forum, Mr. Emokiniovo Itobore, who took office in 2025, explained that the induction had been delayed for years due to funding challenges. He thanked the governor and the Head of Service for providing the resources needed to revive the programme.
Also speaking, the Forum’s Dean, Mr. Kingsley Olomukoro, encouraged the inductees to prioritise professionalism, ethical leadership and innovation in addressing public sector challenges. Mrs. Oghenekevwe Agas, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Women Affairs and patron of the Forum, called for sustained efforts to further strengthen and professionalise the cadre.
The ceremony concluded with the administration of the oath of allegiance by the Forum’s Legal Adviser, Ukpedor Oghoghomeh, presentation of a communiqué by Mr. Lucky Izomor, and a symbolic handshake with the Head of Service—signalling a renewed commitment to excellence and career growth within the Delta State Civil Service.
