The official ceremony for the 9th National Youth Games holding in Asaba, Delta State has commenced amidst funfare, spectacular performance and match past by state contingents in their various sports regalia with the representative of President Bola Tinubu, DG National Sports Commission,Bokola Olopade, and the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by the State House of Assembly Speaker, Emomotimi Guwor taking the salutes.

The event which recorded low turn out of residents, with only one third of the 23,000 capacity seat stadium occupied, witnessed hoisting of the national flag, host Delta State flag and the 9th National Youth Games games flag by military personnel.
There is heavy security presence including men and officers of the 63 Brigade performing the musical bands.
