Guwor condoles President Tinubu, Nigerian Army over demise of Chief of Army Staff

Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has condoled with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian Army over the Passing of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.

Rt Hon Guwor at Wednesday’s plenary of the State Assembly, also conveyed his condolences to the Lagbaja family of Osun State, South-West Nigeria on the death of Lt. General Lagbaja, who died at the age of 56.

The Speaker prayed God to grant the soul of the late General eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Also at the plenary, Guwor again condoled the government and people of Delta State, particularly the government and people of Ughelli South local government and the Utuama family over last weekend’s demise of former Deputy Governor, Prof Amos Utuama, SAN.

The Speaker prayed to God for the repose of the soul of the former deputy Governor and thereafter called for a minutes silence in his honour.

House suspends Ukwuani Rep for 14 legislative days

Meanwhile, the Delta State Assembly at plenary on Wednesday, slammed two weeks suspension on the member representing Ukwuani State Constituency, Hon Chukwudi Dafe over alleged misconduct.

The motion for the suspension of the lawmaker for fourteen legislative days was moved by the Majority Leader, Hon Emeka Nwaobi, representing Aniocha North and seconded by the Chief Whip, Hon Perkins Umukoro, representing Sapele constituency and adopted.

The Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor announced that a Committee will be set up to investigate the issues that led to the suspension.
