DELSU lecturer escapes assassination attempt in Abraka

The attempted assassination of a senior lecturer at the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Prof. Emmanuel Akarah has been reported. The brazen and disturbing incident occurred on Tuesday night.

It was learnt that the lecturer popularly known as Don Spino, was attacked by armed assailants at his residence in Abraka .

The attackers fired gunshots for over 30 minutes, attempting to force entry into his room, and set the sitting room ablaze.

According to a source, “thankfully, Prof. Akarah escaped with his life and is currently receiving medical treatment. The wife and children are also safe. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this challenging time,” he concluded.
