HOSCON, stakeholders deliberate on PIA implementation in PTI, Effurun

The Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSCON), in conjunction with stakeholders, will deliberate on the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) at the summit scheduled to hold on Thursday at the Petroleum Training Institute, PTI, Effurun, Delta State.

HOSCON had, in a statement by the Executive National Chairman, Dr. Mike Emuh, made it known that the summit will bring together all stakeholders to rub minds on the inherent issues and intricacies to foster better understanding and cooperation ahead of the take off of the PIA implementation”.

Emuh further said that the event offers all stakeholders the opportunity to interact, seek understanding and clarifications on the modalities and build confidence towards a mutually beneficial collaboration.

Stakeholders expected at the summit are the IOCs, LOCs, Traditional Rulers Council of Oil Producing Communities of Nigeria (TROPCOM), NPDC, NDDC, NLNG, NCDMB, communities Presidents-General, all registered oil and gas pressure groups and associations.

Others are PENGASSAN, pipeline impacted communities and allied stakeholders, upstream, midstream and downstream regulatory agencies, particularly NUPRC, the body charged with the PIA implementation.

Both the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha and the Minister of Environment, Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi will also attend the summit.
