NNL: Oborevwori, Ohwojero laud Warri Wolves for beating Igbajo FC

The Delta State Sports Commission Chairman, Mr. Onoriode Oborevwori, and the Director-General, Mr. Festus Ohwojero, have lauded Warri Wolves FC for their 1-0 victory over Igbajo FC in the Nigeria National League (NNL).

Speaking after the match played at the Southern Delta University Stadium, Ozoro, Delta State, Oborevwori described the win as a testament to the team’s skill and determination.

“This victory is a reflection of the talent and dedication of our players.

“It also underscores the growing competitiveness of football in our state. I must thank His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for his unwavering support for Warri Wolves and other state-owned clubs. His passion for sports development under the M.O.R.E. Agenda has been instrumental in elevating sports in Delta State,” he said.

On his part, Ohwojero said: “The team’s discipline and focus were evident in today’s performance. This victory was well-deserved, and I commend the players and coaching staff for their hard work.”

The two officials of the sports commission were present at the match, providing moral support and motivational talks to the team before kick-off.

Their encouragement reportedly boosted the players’ morale, as the team displayed excellent teamwork to secure the win.

The victory has placed Warri Wolves FC as joint leaders in Group A of the National League, tied on 7 points with Abia Comets FC, who hold a superior goal difference.

Warri wolves fc next fixture is against the table topper, Abia Comets fc at Umuahia on Saturday 4th January, 2025, which is regarded as the star match of the group.
