2025: Deaconess Oborevwori welcomes Delta Baby of the Year

In a heartwarming start to the New Year, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, wife of the Delta Governor and founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, welcomed the first baby of the year in the state.

Deaconess Oborevwori, who welcomed the star baby at the Maternal and Child Care Centre, Central Hospital, Warri, presented gift items, including cash, to the newborn and his parents.

Accompanied by her team from the You Matter Charity Foundation and other dignitaries, including the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, the governor’s wife expressed joy at the gift of children to the state on the first day of 2025.

On behalf of the state government and her foundation, she welcomed the baby, Master Wealth Amiolemen, and presented sundry items to the parents for his wellbeing. She also extended the gesture to other newborns and nursing mothers at the facility.

During a tour of the various wards in the Maternal and Child Care Centre, Deaconess Oborevwori presented cash gifts, baby items, and bags of rice to patients. She offered prayers for the total recovery of ailing children and mothers.

Speaking to journalists, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori urged parents in the state, especially mothers, to nurture their children according to biblical standards. This, she said, would ensure they fulfill their destiny and become good citizens.

The parents of baby Wealth, Mr. and Mrs. Happy Amiolemen, appreciated the First Lady’s visit and the kind gesture of the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. They said it was a testament to the opportunities for all, as earmarked in the MORE agenda.

This event marks the beginning of annual activities of the You Matter Charity Foundation. The foundation prioritizes the healthcare and wellbeing of children and women in Delta State through the office of the governor’s wife.
