Content creators and social media influencers have been urged to leverage their creativity to promote the positive image of Delta State and the nation as a whole.
Henrietta Enwereaku, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, made the call at the inaugural Delta Creators and Influencers Hangout, held on Friday, January 10, at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba.
Enwereaku highlighted the importance of content in shaping public perception on social media and discussed strategies to use digital platforms to enhance the reputation of both Delta State and Nigeria.
She expressed gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for prioritising the programme, aimed at empowering youths to excel in the creative industry. She assured attendees that her office would continue to support young content creators in reaching the heights of their careers.
In her remarks, Orode Uduaghan, Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development, emphasised the need for positive content to correct misconceptions about the state. She encouraged the organisers to sustain the initiative.
Keynote speakers Dr. Ella Ezeadilieje and Onye Ubanatu, both social media influencers, stressed the importance of honesty, creativity, consistency, and vision for content creators.
They urged creators to focus on building lasting legacies and warned against the detrimental effects of using social media to spread negative messages. They also advised emerging content creators to remain objective and selfless in their work.
