Udu/Ughelli Federal Constituency passes confidence vote on Oborevwori

The Udu/Ughelli Federal Constituency, Tuesday, passed a vote of confidence on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his unprecedented development of all parts of the state.

The vote of confidence was passed in Asaba, during a strategic meeting to synergise for the growth and unity of the party ahead of 2027 general elections.

The motion for the vote of confidence, which was unanimously adopted, was moved former member of the State House of Assembly and Chairman State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hon. Samuel Mariere, and seconded by Hon. Anthony Erhuen.

Moving the motion, Mariere said the Governor’s credible performance in all sectors were outstanding and worthy of commendation.

In his acceptance speech, Olorogun John Oguma appreciated stakeholders for the trust reposed in him and called for the support of all stakeholders to move the constituency forward.

He said, “The federal constituency will ensure that Governor Oborevwori wins massively in the area in the 2027 elections.

“The new federal constituency structure will strengthen the existing leadership organs of the party.

“The Udu/Ughelli federal constituency is the largest with 14 kingdoms out of the 24 kingdoms in Urhoboland and, over the years, the federal constituency has lost its place of pride in Urhobo politics.

“The federal constituency also has more registered voters than the two other federal constituencies put together in Delta Central; yet, in spite of the numerical strength, the PDP has performed poorly, but the process of positioning it for positive development has began, and the unity of the federal constituency is sacrosanct.

“The purpose of the meeting is to provide a veritable platform for stakeholders to constructively chart the way forward for PDP in the 2027 general elections.”

Other members of the The Udu/Ughelli federal constituency Executive are; Chief Eddie Ono-Sorhue – Deputy Chairman; Rt. Hon Festus Ovie Agas – Secretary; Hon. George Oyefia – Treasurer, and Hon Vincent Oyibode – Publicity Secretary.
