Police confirms arrest of Delta Varsity undergraduate

Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 100-level female student of Delta State University, Agbor, Precious Nosakaire, for killing a final-year nursing student.

It was gathered that the incident happened at the Delta State University Agbor, when a 100-level student, who was learning how to drive, lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a group of pedestrians, resulting in the death of the final-year nursing student.

According to a source in school, the accident occurred on Tuesday when the first-year student, who had just begun her studies, was involved in the fatal crash while her boyfriend was teaching her how to drive.

The vehicle veered off the road and hit a group of people at the side of the road, claiming the life of Awele, a nursing student set to graduate in November. Two others are said to be currently in a critical condition at the hospital.

“The girl was learning how to drive when she lost control of the vehicle and hit people. A nursing student died immediately while another lady who is a hairdresser sustained a serious injury.

however, the boyfriend, who owns the car, fled the scene immediately after the accident.

A university management source confirming the incident maintained that it did not happen inside the campus but in Agbor town, Delta State.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Delta State, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the killing, saying that the suspect had been arrested while her boyfriend had run away.
