Okowa’s endorsement of Oborevwori for 2027 re-election is a testament to performance — Oghenesivbe

Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has described the recent endorsement of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for re-election in 2027 by the former governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, as timely.

Oghenesivbe who made the statement in a radio programme, over the weekend, said the endorsement was a clear indication that Senator Okowa, who led Delta State from 2015 to May 29, 2023, is visibly proud of Governor Oborevwori’s remarkable strides in purposeful governance, socioeconomic growth, and infrastructural development.

He recalled that Senator Okowa had, while receiving thousands of defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta North, commended Oborevwori’s achievements, noting that Delta State has experienced unprecedented development under his leadership, resulting in improved living standards across the state.

He expressed confidence that the strong bond between Governor Oborevwori and Senator Okowa will continue to solidify the PDP in Delta State and inspire Deltans to return the governor for a second term in a landslide victory, regardless of political affiliations. He added that the PDP is determined to reclaim all National Assembly seats in the next general elections.

Dr. Oghenesivbe noted that Governor Oborevwori is determined to advance Delta’s economic standing from its current position as the fourth-largest economy in Nigeria to the number one spot by the end of his administration in 2031.

The DG lauded Senator Okowa as a selfless leader who left behind a legacy of impactful projects, including the ultra-modern State Secretariat on Mariam Babangida Way, the Stephen Keshi International Stadium, three newly established state universities, and several technical colleges.
