Six Delta Reps dump PDP for APC

Six members of the House of Representatives from Delta State have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

This was revealed by the Speaker of the House, Abbas Tajuddeen at the resumed plenary on Tuesday.

The six members who defected from the PDP to the APC are Rep.Victor Nwokolo; Rep. Julius Pondi; Rep. Thomas Ereyitomi; Rep. Nicholas Mutu; Rep.Ukodhiko Jonathan and Rep. Nnamdi Ezechi.

The Speaker quoted the lawmakers as saying they defected as a result of intractable crisis rocking their parties in their respective states and at the National level.

Recall that the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and some other members of the PDP had defected to the APC last week.

The House of Representatives has seen gale of defections mostly from the opposition parties to the ruling APC in recent times.
