Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved a special seminar and training workshop for community newspaper publishers across the state, scheduled to hold on May 20, 2025, at Hotel Beniza, starting at 9:00 a.m. prompt.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Newspapers Hon. Comrade Prince Orhomonokpaye, said that the workshop is strictly by invitation and forms part of activities marking Governor Oborevwori’s second anniversary in office.
The training will be headlined by the Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, Prof. Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, who will deliver a lecture on effectively reporting the achievements of the MORE Agenda of the present administration.
According to the release, the initiative is aimed at enhancing the professional capacity of grassroots media practitioners, equipping them with modern reporting skills, and strengthening their role in community education and public enlightenment.
All invited community newspaper publishers and special guests are expected to be seated by 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the venue.
The event is also intended to foster a stronger partnership between the state government and local media outfits in disseminating accurate and developmental information to the public.
