Festus Keyamo deserves to be Minister - Apoki

A Public affairs analyst and social commentator in Delta State, Dr. Charles Apoki says  one of the ministerial nominees by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from the state, Festus Keyamo, who has been screened and confirmed by the senate deserves his position as a Minister.

Dr. Charles Apoki made this known in an interview on Tuesday with YourCitiNews Correspondent in Otovwodo, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

He noted that the former Minister of State, for Labour and Employment was at the forefront of the campaign for the Bola Ahmed Asiwaju’s “Renewed Hope” agenda till he was sworn in as President and he should be rewarded accordingly just as others who made the 45 name ministerial list of the government.

Speaking further on the nominees who have not been cleared, the medical doctor and school proprietor postulated that if anyone of them was facing any security clearance or found wanting while in public office, they needed to answer to the petitions or crime committed before being confirmed by the senate. Asserting that sentiments should not be involved as Nigeria is bigger than any individual.

On the issue of marginalization of other senatorial districts from the ministerial nominees list, Apoki stated that the presidential election results from the state clearly showed that the 25% President Bola Tinubu got almost came from only one particular district. He suggested that those clamouring for ministerial appointments from their district should show commitment in laying claims to appointments going forward.
