Ashibuogwu resumes duty as Commissioner, pledges to take primary education sector in Delta to greater height

Delta State Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibuogwu on Wednesday reiterated his resolve to drive the primary education sector to a greater height in the state.

Dr. Ashibuogwu stated this in Asaba, when he officially resumed duty as the state Commissioner for Primary Education. He sued for a robust working relationship with the staff of Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education with a view to actualize the MORE agenda of Rt. Hon. Oborevwori’s administration in the primary education sector.

He promised to contribute his quota towards the development of the education system in Delta state, adding that he would always operate open door policy and carry staff along in the scheme of things.

Ashibuogwu solicited the cooperation and support of the staff of the Ministry to enable him succeed in his assignments, explaining that the initiative, would ensure that Delta State was ranked among the best in terms of development.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary in Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Oghoro, described the appointment of Dr. Ashibuogwu as a testament of the disposition and trust as well as confidence the present Oborevwori-led administration had reposed in him.

Oghoro said that the primary and secondary education sector of the education industry in Delta was one that offered compulsory free and quality education to learners in the state.

He said that the management and staff of the Ministry would ensure that the aspirations and expectations of the Governor was achieved, especially in the primary education sector.

He also assured the Commissioner that staff of the Ministry would perform their duties, support and cooperate with him to move the Ministry forward.

The PS recalled that the Governor during the swearing in of the members of the State Executive Council reaffirmed his resolve to give the education and other critical sectors priority attention.

He said that the duty of the Ministry was to ensure that the policy directives of the State Government was effectively and adequately carried out.
