Hon. Etanabene calls for urgent repair of Benin-Warri Road
The House of Representatives Member Representing Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Hon. Ben Etanabene has expressed sadness over the continued deplorable and abandoned Benin-Warri Road.
He advised that the Governors of Edo and Delta states should have taken it upon themselves to repair the road long ago, even if it is a federal road being largely used by the people of the two neighbouring States
Barr. Ben Etanabene made this call in an interview with YourCitiNews Freelance Reporter, Frederick Umuerure in Orerokpe in Okpe local government area of Delta State.
He maintained that him and other of his colleagues from both chambers of the National Assembly have raised matter of urgent needs for the road to be done by Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) but it’s now left for the Presidency to do the needful for the total repair of the road.
Speaking further, the former chairman of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers stated that it won’t cost both the Federal and State governments to repair the Ologbo/Koko axis of the road.
Etanabene emphasized that he would lead a protest in order for government to quickly come for the repairs of these roads if they fail to pay attention to the cry of the motorists plying the road with urgent importance.
