Director of Nursing Schools in Delta debunks allegations of extortion

The Director of Schools of Nursing in Delta State, Mrs Gloria Igumbor says no students or parents should pay money for admission into any of the three Colleges of Nursing and two schools of Midwifery in the State.

Igumbor debunked the allegations of extortion and corruption as blackmail by some unscrupulous elements using her name to defraud innocent parents and students across the state.

She added that a number of persons have been arrested and made confessional statements as to using her name to defraud the general public. She also promised to continue to arrest anyone found wanting both internally and outside these institutions.

Speaking in an interview with YourCitiNews Freelance Reporter, Frederick Umuerure at the new Secretariat in Asaba, Igumbor clarified that the entrance exams has always been on merit under her watch till date, noting that the Nursing school exams that were written after six months will always make any admitted student a bona fide student of school of Nursing in the State.

The Director equally called on students to read their books and discouraged payment of money to anyone claiming they were from her, be it a lecturer or principal from any of the various colleges of Nursing or Midwifery schools in the state.
