Take sanitation seriously, avoid sanctions – Ukah

Director General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), Patrick Ukah, has called on residents of the state, particularly in Asaba to remove what he tagged as illegal structures attached to buildings to avoid any demolition/sanction.

Ukah who made the call during a Press conference held in Asaba the state capital, to kick-start a 21-day Secure, Clean and Green Delta territory campaign, warned sternly that all illegal structures defacing the capital city will be pulled down if those involved refuses to comply after the campaign.

He further called on residents to dispose their waste properly and avoid dumping them in waterways as anyone caught will be made to face the law accordingly as plans are underway to create a mobile court for offenders.

The DG however, advised residents to make sanitation a priority as it will promote a healthier environment for everyone, noting the challenges of state government procuring a proper dump site for the state which according to him, the agency was already putting measures in place to rectify by collaborating with the ministry of environment.
