Delta All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta State Chapter has mobilized members of the party to the burial ceremony of the former general secretary of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Chief Frank Ovie Kokori.
The publicity Secretary, APC Delta State, Valentine Onojeghuo, in a press statement made available on Monday, urged members to ensure they paid their last respects to the departed chieftain of the party.
Recall that Chief Frank Kokori had passed after a brief illness on Thursday, December 7, 2023.
Contained in the invite is the date for the Service of Songs of the chieftain of the party which will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 3:00 pm at his residence, Ovu-inland, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the State.
According to the statement, the former bigwig of the party will be laid to rest on Friday, March 8, 2024 at St. James Anglican Church, Oviore-Ovu, Ethiope East Local Government Area.
While internment would follow at his residence at No. 20 Odokuma Street, Ovu-inland, Ethiope East LGA by 2pm, reception and entertainment would take place at Ovu Grammar School, Ovu-Inland, Ethiope East LGA by 1:00 pm that same day.
“I have been directed by the State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, to cordially invite esteemed Leaders, elected representatives, both federal and state, members of the State Executive Committee, Stakeholders and general membership of our great Party to the burial ceremony of our father, leader and elder statesman, late CHIEF FRANK OVIE KOKORI, the Itetebe of Agbon Kingdom and former Secretary-general of NUPENG, scheduled as follows:
“Thursday 7th March 2024: Service of Songs at his residence, Ovu-inland, Ethiope East LGA Time: 3pm
“Friday 8th March 2024: Funeral Service at St. James Anglican Church, Oviore-Ovu, Ethiope East LGA Time: 10:00 am.
“12:30 pm: Internment at his residence at No. 20 Odokuma Street, Ovu-inland, Ethiope East LGA.
1:00 pm: Reception/Entertainment at Ovu Grammar School, Ovu-Inland, Ethiope East LGA.
“Kindly endeavour to attend as we give our father and national hero a most befitting transition to glory,” the letter stated.
