The Delta State Governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has received lots of congratulatory messages on his victory at the Court of Appeal from well distinguished Deltans.
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, on Friday 5th May 2023, dismissed a pre-election appeal filed by Chief Ikie Aghwarianovwe, seeking the disqualification of Delta State Governor-elect, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
Chief Ikie had filed a suit sometime in October 2022, alleging that Rt. Hon. Oborevwori submitted false documents to INEC to aid his qualification for the 2019 House of Assembly election in Delta State.
Chief Ikie further claimed that as a result of the alleged forged documents, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori was not qualified to contest the Delta State 2023 gubernatorial election.

The Pere of Tuomo Kingdom in Burutu local government area of Delta State, HRM (Justice) Francis Tabai JSC (Rtd) Pere Esuku I, in his message tasked the incoming governor to give equal attention to all parts of the state, especially areas in dire need of infrastructural and social development in the government’s distribution of democracy dividends.
The monarch Tabai said, “I urge our governor-elect to lead with wisdom and understanding of the wishes and aspirations of the people, I urge him to create equal opportunities for all Deltans and make Delta State a better place for all.
“I however, task Oborevwori to demonstrate in unequivocal terms the much-needed sense of belonging to all parts of the state, most especially areas in dire need of infrastructural and social development in the state.

Dr. Kofi noted that the judgement by the Appeal Court further affirmed Rt. Hon. Oborevwori was eminently qualified to be Governor of Delta State and further validated his victory in the exercise.
“This is indeed a victory for democracy, the PDP and the good people of Delta State who freely gave Oborevwori the mandate to govern them for the next four years. This will also serve as a boost for the Governor-elect who will be sworn in on May 29 to deliver dividends of democracy to his people,” Kofi added.

Meanwhile, Obiodeh stressed that Deltans would be in advantageous position to enjoy peace and security if the State is rapidly developed in terms of infrastructures, economic boom, and massive jobs opportunities for the teeming youths.
And as for all aggrieved contestants, he admonished them to sheathe their swords in the spirit of sportsmanship, saying that in every contest there must be a winner and that there can never be two winners at the same time because you win some and you also lose some.
In his concluding remarks, Obiodeh reaffirmed that there is no cause for alarm as the Governor-Elect is a round peg in a round hole, who came prepared with an ideological programme that will positively transform and impact the lives of all Deltans.
Hon. (Pharm) Victor Ofobrukueta, Ethiope East Chairman on Appeal court victory
The Ethiope East council boss, Ofobrukueta appealed to the governor-elect to work with former PDP aspirants and candidates of other political parties who are willing to support him for the development of the state.
He added that the Appeal Court decision stood for the vital proposition that the rule of law serves to protect the sovereign will of the people when expressed in free and honest elections.
They used the opportunity to call on all Deltans to support and pray for the success of the much awaited administration of Rt. Hon. Oborevwori, as he takes oath of office on May 29th, indicating that the incoming Governor would need the support of everyone in order to take the State to an enviable height during his term in office.
