As part of ongoing proactive and intelligence-led policing efforts, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Agbor Division, CSP Michael Obekpa, recently led a team of officers on a covert operation following an investigation into a reported armed robbery incident that occurred on December 24, 2025.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed that based on credible intelligence, the operation led to the arrest of two suspected armed robbers on January 4, 2026, at about 10:45 p.m. He explained that the suspects were known for attacking and dispossessing unsuspecting members of the public of their motorcycles within Agbor and surrounding areas.
The suspects were identified as Owakwe Chuks, a 37-year-old male, and Bright Moses, a 32-year-old male. Items recovered from them include a hammer allegedly used to assault victims, a brown face mask, a short knife, a mobile phone, and a face cap.
In a separate incident, SP Edafe reported that on January 8, 2025, at about 7:31 a.m., the Ogwashi-Uku Police Division received information regarding the death of a 20-year-old male who was allegedly stabbed while sleeping at about 3:20 a.m. along Poly Road, near Adaigbo Filling Station.
Following the report, the DPO of Ogwashi-Uku Division, CSP Israel Okoyomon, immediately deployed detectives to the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was allegedly stabbed by his brother, identified as Aliyu Haman, also 20 years old.
The suspect was arrested, and the weapon allegedly used in committing the offence was recovered. The police further stated that the victim’s body was taken to Odua Mortuary in Ogwashi-Uku for autopsy, while the suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
