Ajede Takes Steps to Revitalize Education in Ukwuani

As part of ongoing efforts to improve and strengthen the education sector in Ukwuani Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Barr.) C.S. Possible Ajede, convened a broad meeting today with the Ukwuani Local Government Education Authority (LEA), head teachers, council management staff, school administrators, and the LEA board chairman.

In his remarks, Barr. Ajede praised the head teachers, teachers, and school administrators for their unwavering dedication to educating and shaping the lives of pupils across the LGA.

The Ukwuani Council Chairman commended the head teachers for their dedication and resilience despite the many challenges confronting the education sector in the area, assuring them that the issues would be addressed soon.

During the meeting, the Do More Agenda torchbearer cautioned against any form of extortion of pupils during registration, describing such practices as unacceptable. He urged school heads to maintain integrity, accountability, and transparency in the management of their schools across the LGA.

Barr. Ajede also expressed concern over the vandalization of public schools in some communities and the deteriorating condition of several learning facilities, noting that many have become overgrown with weeds and require urgent attention.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to educational development under the Do More Agenda, the Ukwuani Council Chairman highlighted that education remains the foundation of every progressive society. He called for collective efforts to strengthen and improve the effectiveness of the primary school system within the LGA.

The Council Boss also underscored the need for continuous in-house training for teachers and school administrators, noting that capacity building is essential to enhance teaching standards and align local education delivery with the Federal Government’s vision.

Meanwhile, the proactive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Local Education Authority (LEA) and schools to fully achieve the education goals outlined in his administration’s mandate.

He emphasized that his government will continue to provide educational support to pupils and students at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels both across the country and especially within Ukwuani. According to him, the objective is to ensure that every Ukwuani child has access to quality education and meaningful learning opportunities.

In their separate remarks, the Education Secretary, head teachers, and other stakeholders thanked the Executive Chairman for convening the enlarged meeting and called for continuous engagement between the council and the education community. They described the interaction as timely and expressed confidence that its outcomes would significantly strengthen the educational system across the LGA.
