The Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Community Development, Hon. Davids Akpobolokaemi, has praised the First Vice Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty, Pere SP Luke, Pere Kalanama VIII, JP, for initiating a well-planned and forward-looking scholarship programme designed to empower young people through education.
Akpobolokaemi described the monarch’s commitment to education as strategic, visionary and impactful, noting that the initiative would bring lasting benefits to the people, communities, economy and environment of the Akugbene-Mein Kingdom.
He said the programme reflects the qualities of a leader with a strong sense of purpose and genuine concern for the wellbeing of his people, adding that investment in human capital remains the foundation and driving force of sustainable development.
According to him, the scholarship scheme would yield significant long-term gains, predicting that in the years ahead, the Akugbene-Mein Kingdom would begin to produce and export skilled and intellectually equipped individuals to other states, countries and regions of the world as part of its socio-economic advancement.
Akpobolokaemi called on well-meaning individuals and stakeholders to support the initiative to help maximize its impact, stressing that the people of the kingdom owe the monarch gratitude for such a thoughtful intervention.
He also urged beneficiaries of the scholarship to honour the gesture by staying disciplined, focused and committed to their studies, noting that their academic success would serve as proof of the programme’s vision and purpose.
The governor’s aide expressed appreciation to the monarch for his generosity and encouragement of his people, describing the scholarship scheme as a vital step toward helping youths realize their ambitions, become responsible citizens and contribute meaningfully to societal growth and development.
