Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has praised Emorock Concept Ltd a subsidiary of Dewayle’s Group for delivering impressive rural road and bridge projects currently underway in the Isoko and Ughelli areas of the state.
Aniagwu gave the commendation during an inspection tour of several key rural infrastructure projects, including the 4.8km Phase 2 of the Emevor–Ivrogbo–Orogun Road; the Emaka/Ogodogo/Ivu Access Road in Okpolo-Enhwe; and Phase III of the Okpolo-Enhwe–Uwheru Road and bridge, spanning Isoko North, Isoko South and Ughelli North LGAs.
He noted that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to linking communities with durable infrastructure is becoming clearer through the growing network of rural roads and bridges designed to improve movement, boost productivity and unlock economic growth.
Speaking during his visit to the second 4.8km phase of the Emevor–Ivrogbo–Orogun Road, Aniagwu recalled that the governor had commissioned the first 4.04km phase before marking his first year in office and had immediately promised to kick off Phase 2.
“That promise has been kept. The contractor has assured us that the second phase will be completed before the end of February next year,” Aniagwu said. He noted that construction was progressing steadily, with major earthworks finished and binder courses already being laid across important sections of the road.
Aniagwu also expressed satisfaction with the pace of work on the 3.2km Emaka/Ogodogo/Ivu Access Road in Okpolo-Enhwe, which serves several oil facilities in the area. He reported that drainage works were almost complete and earthworks advancing at a good pace.
“I’m confident that by the end of January, they would have made significant progress with the binder course, and at this rate, the project may be completed before the end of February 2026,” he said.
On the Okpolo-Enhwe–Uwheru bridge project, the commissioner applauded EmoRock Concept Ltd, describing the work as “a beautiful sight to behold.”
“You can see the quality of the stone pitching, the approach, and the descent. This is the type of work that makes us proud of our indigenous contractors. EmoRock Concept Ltd is doing exceptionally well, and we encourage them to keep engaging skilled, certified engineers to maintain this standard,” he stated.
Aniagwu highlighted the bridge’s importance, saying it not only links communities across Isoko South and Ughelli North but also enhances the area’s landscape.
He expressed optimism that Governor Oborevwori would personally commission the project when completed, adding that the ongoing works reflect the positive impact of the administration across rural communities.
“We are not only developing urban centres. The governor is connecting communities and building bridges of opportunity. Now, you no longer need to return to the expressway just to move between these local governments,” Aniagwu added.
