Aniagwu Urges Information Officers to Embrace Creativity, Leverage *AI* for Effective Service

Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has called on Information Officers across the state to embrace creativity and continuous self-development in order to remain relevant in today’s fast-changing media landscape.

Aniagwu made the appeal in Asaba while declaring open a one-day media retreat themed _“Leveraging Artificial Intelligence Tools in Information Delivery.”_

He explained that Information Officers serve as critical bridges between government institutions and the public, stressing that their effectiveness depends on their ability to adapt to new trends and technologies.

“As public relations officers, your job is not just to relay information but to create goodwill and build lasting friendships for your principals and organizations,” Aniagwu said.

“This requires creativity, innovation, and a commitment to learning modern tools, including Artificial Intelligence, to enhance your work.”

The Commissioner noted that Artificial Intelligence (*AI*) has transformed the way information is sourced, processed, and disseminated globally.

According to him, integrating AI tools into public communication strategies would not only improve accuracy but also make content delivery faster and more engaging.

Aniagwu further emphasized the need for Information Officers to serve as ambassadors of credibility by ensuring that facts are always prioritized over speculation.

He urged them to maintain professionalism and discipline, reminding them that the credibility of government communication rests heavily on their shoulders.

The retreat provided participants with insights on AI-driven research, data analysis, and digital communication tools. Aniagwu expressed optimism that the training would enhance their performance, ultimately strengthening the bond between government agencies and the citizens they serve.
