APC Mourns Death of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, Hails His Legacy of Service at 67

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Senator Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi, who passed away at the age of 67, describing his demise as a major loss to the party, Delta State, and the nation.

In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the APC said Senator Nwaoboshi was a seasoned politician, committed democrat, and loyal party stalwart whose contributions to Nigeria’s legislative and political development would be long remembered.

Nwaoboshi represented the Delta North Senatorial District in the 8th and 9th National Assembly, where he also served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Niger Delta. In that role, the party noted, he was a strong voice for economic empowerment and balanced development across the Niger Delta region.

The APC recalled that the late senator made history in June 2021 when he became the first APC senator from Delta North after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Before joining the APC, he served as a two-term Chairman of the PDP in Delta State and was also its pioneer state secretary, playing a key role in building and strengthening the party’s structure.

His passing, the APC said, has created a void that will be difficult to fill.

The party extended its condolences to the Nwaoboshi family, his political associates, and the government and people of Delta State, offering prayers for comfort and strength during the period of mourning. The APC concluded by praying for the peaceful repose of the late senator’s soul, describing him as a leader whose impact will endure beyond his lifetime.
