APC prioritizes national interest, economic growth, people-centered policies –Nwoko

Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Ned Nwoko, has said that his decision to cross over to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was made after deep reflection and wide consultations with key stakeholders, political associates and his constituents.

He said this on Wednesday in a post on X.

On Wednesday, on the floor of the Senate, Nwoko officially crossed over to the ruling party. He wrote:

“For years, I have remained committed to the ideals of good governance, effective representation, and the well-being of my people. However, it became increasingly clear that remaining in my former party would not allow me to fulfill the promises I made to my constituents. The challenges within the party, particularly in Delta State, have hindered progress, making it difficult to work effectively for the development of my people.

“Crossing over to the APC is a strategic step towards aligning with a platform that prioritizes national interest, economic growth, and people-centered policies. The APC, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has demonstrated a clear vision for Nigeria’s development, and I am excited to be part of this movement for positive change.”

Furthermore, he appreciated the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for his leadership and warm reception into the party, just as he extended his gratitude to the Senate President, His Excellency, Senator Godswill Akpabio, for his support and encouragement during this transition.

Continuing, he said that Akpabio’s leadership in the Senate has continued to foster unity and progress, saying: “I look forward to working closely with him and my colleagues to advance policies that will benefit the Nigerian people.”

“To my supporters, constituents, and well-wishers, I am deeply grateful for your unwavering trust and belief in me. As I transition into this new phase, my commitment to the people of Delta North remains steadfast. I will continue to advocate for policies and initiatives that will build a stronger Delta, a united South-South, and a prosperous Nigeria,” he said.

“Together, we will build a stronger Delta and a greater Nigeria. The journey continues!” he concluded.
