Aruna Quadri Ranked Number 1 In Africa

Nigerian table tennis sensation Quadri Aruna has once again solidified his position as Africa’s premier player, topping the continental rankings with an impressive 1,065 points. His consistent excellence has also seen him climb to world number 28 in the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) standings, as of December 16.

Aruna commands the African top spot comfortably ahead of Egypt’s Omar Assar, who holds 930 points, underscoring the Nigerian’s significant lead in the region. This latest ascent in the global rankings follows a string of outstanding performances that highlight his formidable form.

Recently, Aruna led Qatar SC to clinch the prestigious 2025/2026 Men’s League title, showcasing his leadership and skill on the club stage. His stellar individual form was further demonstrated by his strong showing at the WTT Star Contender Doha event, where he reached the semifinals, competing against some of the world’s elite players.
