Asagba of Asaba Visits Aboh Monarch, for One-Year Coronation Anniversary

His Royal Majesty, Asagba Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, the 14th Asagba of Asaba, on December 28, 2025, paid a royal visit to His Imperial Majesty, Obi Dr. Greg Oputa III, the Obi of Aboh Kingdom, to celebrate the monarch’s 60th birthday and first coronation anniversary.

The visit underscored the deep historical and cultural ties between the two ancient Delta kingdoms, with the Asagba emphasising reciprocity and brotherhood.

Addressing the Aboh monarch and his subjects, Prof. Azinge expressed gratitude for the warm reception and congratulated Obi Oputa III on attaining the milestone age of 60 in sound health, describing it as a privilege granted to few by Almighty God.

He commended the Obi for maintaining peace in Aboh Kingdom, noting visible evidence of tranquillity upon his arrival, and praised the monarch’s visionary development plans.

“Asaba and Aboh share a lot in common. I insisted on this visit despite obstacles because Your Majesty visited us twice — an act of love that demands reciprocation,” the Asagba said.

He described Asaba as a hospitable home for all, proud of its welcoming heritage, and assured continued support for the fraternal bond between the kingdoms, while praying for the Obi’s long life and reign.

In response, Obi Dr. Greg Oputa III appreciated the Asagba and his entourage for the solidarity visit, expressing profound respect for the shared values and enduring relationship between Aboh and Asaba kingdoms.

The event highlighted unity among traditional institutions in Delta State, fostering stronger inter-kingdom relations.
