Asite Endorses Ese Gam for Second Term as UPU Worldwide PG

The Financial Secretary of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Worldwide, Chief (Sir) Simon Asite (JP), has thrown his full support behind the re-election of the incumbent President General, Olorogun Barr. Ese Gam Owe.

Chief Asite, who also serves as the National Financial Secretary of the Urhobo Integrity Organization (UPIO), made this known during an exclusive interview with our correspondent shortly after UPIO’s monthly meeting held at the Ekpan residence of its National President, Chief Ebenezer Okorodudu, in Uvwie Local Government Area, over the weekend.

He praised Olorogun Ese Gam Owe’s leadership style and highlighted his numerous achievements during his first tenure, describing him as a leader who has been “trusted and tested.” According to Asite, Owe’s re-election would ensure the completion of his ongoing developmental agenda for the Urhobo Nation.

“Olorogun Ese Gam Owe has shown purposeful and result-oriented leadership. He deserves a second term to continue the good work he has started,” Asite stated.

The Evwreni-born politician, who is also a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), appealed to all well-meaning sons and daughters of Urhobo land to rally behind Owe’s re-election bid for the progress and unity of the Urhobo people.

Chief Asite also used the occasion to congratulate Chief Ebenezer Okorodudu on his recent appointment as Chairman of the Central Working Committee for the forthcoming UPU National Congress. He described Okorodudu as a capable and experienced leader whose track record of service makes him “a square peg in a square hole.”

“With Olorogun Okorodudu leading the committee, I am confident that the upcoming congress will be well-organized and highly successful,” Asite added.
