Barcelona have reportedly set their sights on Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as a possible replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the current season.
According to Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo, the La Liga champions are eyeing the prolific forward as part of their plans to strengthen the squad ahead of the 2026/27 season and beyond. With growing indications that this could be Lewandowski’s final year in Barcelona colours, finding a new striker has become one of the club’s top priorities.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that Barcelona are actively exploring attacking options for the future.
Osimhen, who made a permanent move to Galatasaray from Napoli before the start of the 2025/26 season, has maintained his outstanding form. The Turkish champions signed him following an incredible loan spell in which he netted 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions during the 2024/25 campaign. Galatasaray went all out to make the deal happen, completing a record €75 million transfer and tying the Nigerian star down to a four-year contract running until 2029.
Reports suggest that Barcelona are not planning to extend Robert Lewandowski’s contract, which is set to expire soon, as the 37-year-old continues to struggle with fitness and consistency. His age and recurring injuries have recently seen him lose his place in Hansi Flick’s starting lineup.
However, a move for Osimhen may prove financially challenging for the Catalan giants. The Nigerian striker is said to earn around €15 million per year, along with a €1 million loyalty bonus and an additional €5 million in image rights payments.
Romano also disclosed that Napoli included a special clause in Osimhen’s contract prior to his transfer to Galatasaray. Meanwhile, Barcelona have been linked with several other high-profile strikers — including Harry Kane, Karl Etta Eyong, Dusan Vlahovic, Erling Haaland, Serhou Guirassy, and Julian Alvarez — as the club looks to reshape its attacking lineup for the next generation.
