Super Falcons player Asisat Oshoala has not yet returned to her team Bay FC, but the American club has already begun to honor her contribution to Nigeria’s remarkable achievement in winning the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) for the 10th time last Saturday.

Prior to the tournament, the 30-year-old had not participated in national team activities since the Olympics due to personal issues. She discussed her absence during a pre-tournament interview.

“It’s been a while since I was part of the national team,” she stated. “I had some personal matters to attend to. But when I’m here, my focus is to give my all, score goals, support my teammates, and contribute to our victory.”

Since her debut in the tournament in 2012, Oshoala has now claimed the WAFCON trophy four times, further solidifying her status as one of Africa’s finest female footballers.
