Blackmailing Nigeria’s Judiciary before the outside world is very unpatriotic (OPINION)

The blackmail of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on media and social media by politicians and followers should be discouraged.

Supreme Court is the highest court in Nigeria. We can’t develop as a country if Supreme Court is the target of politicians and their followers.

If you condemn the apex court of Nigeria it means you are unknowingly condemning everything in Nigeria. If you don’t believe in the apex court of Nigeria it means no foreign investors will invest in Nigeria.

It is not a good sign in a country that the Supreme Court is abused and ridiculed by Nigerians. We are Nigerians, not British/Americans and we must be patriotic and build our country.

Any country whose citizens don’t believe in their apex court is a bad omen. We can’t rubbish our Supreme Court to foreigners. No country is perfect. How many British and Americans sell out their Supreme Courts to Africans?

Is it not time for Africans and Nigerians to believe in themselves and stop rubbishing our Supreme Court to the outside world? I warned Nigerian politicians when they patronised Chatham House and I asked if the British and American leaders have ever come to campaign in Nigeria?

Why even take your internal matters to the US/UK and the West? What will they do for African countries other than destruction? What is happening between Trump/Republicans and Biden/Democrats, have they taken their internal matters to African countries?

African leaders and politicians must wise up. African Black American social crusader, Louis Farrakhan warned African countries since early 90s, but it seems black Africans are addicted to relying on the white people. The Whites are mocking you for taking your matters to them.

How many British/Americans have bank accounts in Nigeria? How many of them send their children to study here in Nigeria? How many of them buy private homes here in Nigeria? While Nigerians have ego to own foreign accounts in UK/US.

We can’t run our country down for the lure of power that it must be me or no one. If you drag Nigeria’s image down before US/UK and you are excited then you are an ‘April fool’. If you rubbish the image of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and you are excited then you are a ‘May fool’.

I know some will say Zik Gbemre has changed. We must be patriotic and protect the image of the Supreme Court of Nigeria if not Nigeria will be doomed further. We need to believe in what we have. Let’s trust the present Chief Justice of Nigeria. The social media can’t arm twist the Supreme Court or blackmail the Supreme Court to surrender.

However, the Supreme Court of Nigeria under Justice Olukayode Ariwola should be up and doing to ensure justice is administered no matter who and what is concerned. I condemn those who use the social media to blackmail the Supreme Court.

Nigerians should allow the justices at the Supreme Court to do their jobs. No amount of blackmail will make them to succumb. This appeal becomes necessary considering the blackmail of the Supreme Court with a lot of fake rumours.

The Supreme Court should ensure the public has confidence in the judiciary. The Supreme Court should be able to be fair in delivering judgments.

It is however, sheer blackmail that when judgment is against you is when you see the judiciary as having been bribed, but when judgment is in your favour, then you hail the judiciary as pragmatic.

It is dangerous to blackmail our judiciary before the West.

Atiku and Obi should desist from media trial and rely on the court rather than be judges themselves. They shouldn’t have approached the election tribunal if the press conference is their solution to their allegation of certificate forgery against Tinubu.

A true democrat which Atiku claims should not rely on press conference to resolve election and political matters. The frequent press conference by aggrieved candidate is never a solution.

Running down your own country for the west is a great error. You must believe in your country. Both aggrieved people had used the judiciary to resolve political matters at one time or the other.

Obasanjo and Atiku were in election tribunal down to appeal court to defend their victory and Peter Obi was in the court down to the Supreme court to retrieve his governorship candidate in Anambra.

The frequent press conference is never a solution for a matter before the Supreme Court. Let Supreme Court justices do their jobs.
