Grammy-winning Afro fusion sensation Burna Boy delivered an electrifying performance, headlining the much-anticipated “Detty-december Rave” in Lekki, Lagos, on the evening of December 23.
The outdoor event, hosted by King Manny and Gaza, seamlessly blended high-energy rave culture with the rich sounds of Afro-beats, setting a vibrant tone for the holiday season.
Fans at the rave were treated to a series of dynamic group performances that sent the crowd into a frenzy. Burna Boy shared the stage for a memorable rendition of “Giza” with fast-rising star Seyi Vibez, and brought out Shallipopi for a captivating performance of “Laho.”
The night reached a fever pitch with an all-star collaboration for “Who Told You,” featuring British rapper J Hus, Highlife maestro Flavour, indigenous rap icon Phyno, and acclaimed dancer Poco Lee, who further hyped the crowd with his synchronized steps.
The excitement was amplified by fellow music heavyweight Olamide, who took to social media to repost clips of the artists linking up, further cementing the event’s significance.
The “Dettycember Rave” was widely celebrated as a cultural summit, showcasing a powerful fusion of West African and broader African sounds, and establishing a high benchmark for the ongoing holiday party season in Lagos.
