Burna Boy, Tems win at 2023 BET Awards

Nigerian superstars Burna Boy and Tems won at the 2023 BET Awards.

New cat” Burna Boy won the Best International Act while Tems won the award for Best Collaboration for her contributions to Future’s ‘Wait For U’.

This is Tems’ second BET award two years in a row. She won the Best International Act last year.

Burna Boy already took home a BET Award in the same category in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

Other BET Award nominees in the Best International Act category alongside included French Musician, Aya Nakamura; British R&B singer, Ella Mai; Rappers and Drill Artists, Stormzy and Central Cee and Nigeria’s Ayra Starr.

Other nominees with Tems in the Best Collaboration category included Big Energy (Remix),” Latto & Mariah Carey Feat. Dj Khaled, “Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2,” Pinkpantheress & Ice Spice, “Call Me Every Day,” Chris Brown Feat. Wizkid, “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop,” King Combs Feat. Kodak Black, “Creepin’,” Metro Boomin, The Weeknd & 21 Savage,”F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” Hitkidd & GloRilla, “Tomorrow 2,”GloRilla & Cardi B.

Meanwhile, Nigerian singer, Asake lost the “Best New International” award to Cameroonian star, Libianca last night.

The ceremony was graced with many wonderful performances especially with Davido performing his “Timeless” album medleys ‘Feel’ and ‘Unavailable’.
