Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Wednesday declared that the increasing influx of businesses, financial institutions and hospitality operators into the state is a clear vote of confidence in his administration’s deliberate reforms aimed at easing the conduct of business.
The Governor made the assertion in Asaba during the inauguration of the second Asaba branch and the 30th nationwide branch of Premium Trust Bank.
He noted that the rising corporate presence in the state underscores Delta’s vast market potential and reflects the conducive business environment fostered by government policies.
According to Oborevwori, the operating environment for businesses has significantly improved through massive infrastructural renewal, policy reforms, a business-friendly posture of government and the sustained peace enjoyed across the state.
He said his administration had deliberately adopted measures to enhance the ease of doing business, with specific policies designed to stimulate business growth and attract investors.
“One of our key policies is the centralised building control system, which helps to fast-track land and property acquisition for prospective investors,” the Governor said.
He added that Asaba, the state capital, has witnessed a real estate boom driven by increased population inflow from neighbouring states.
Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to positioning Delta State as a preferred investment destination through the implementation of sound economic policies encapsulated in the MORE Agenda.
Congratulating the board, management and staff of Premium Trust Bank on the inauguration of the new branch, the Governor described the achievement of expanding to 30 branches nationwide within three years as commendable.
He said the feat was a testament to strong leadership, creativity and dedication, attributing the bank’s rapid growth to personalised customer service, innovative products and high-level professionalism.

The Governor expressed optimism that the new branch would contribute to human capital development, create employment opportunities and deepen retail sector activities in the state. He disclosed that qualified youths from the state had already been engaged by the bank.
Oborevwori also appealed to residents to remain peaceful and law-abiding, especially during the Christmas season, stressing that peace remains a win-win for all stakeholders and a key driver for attracting investments that translate into job and wealth creation.
He assured that the state government would continue to strengthen security across Delta State. He further cautioned host communities against intimidating companies operating within their areas, while urging corporate organisations to fulfil their corporate social responsibilities. The Governor emphasised that no company or oil installation would be shut down in the state under any guise.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of Premium Trust Bank, Dr. Emmanuel Emefienem, disclosed that the newly inaugurated outlet is the bank’s 30th branch in Nigeria, its fifth in Delta State and second in Asaba.
Dr. Emefienem commended Governor Oborevwori for his visionary leadership and notable strides in infrastructure development, youth empowerment and economic diversification.
He described Delta State as “a project site,” with visible development across critical sectors of the economy.
