Civil servant forced into hiding after receiving death threats

A 40-year-old civil servant with the Delta State House of Assembly, Ogidi Godspower, has disclosed that he fled his home in Ughelli, North of Delta State, due to several threats to his life.

Speaking with Vanguard, on the phone, he said: “The threats began with disturbing messages from an unidentified individual, it intensified, and for fear of imminent danger, it forced me to make a desperate decision of leaving behind my injured elder son, wife, and two children.

“Despite reporting to local authorities, the situation escalated, leaving me with no choice but to abandon my possessions to ensure his safety, but I was told they were doing everything they could to investigate and find the person responsible.

“Since then, my family has found refuge with relatives, while authorities investigate the threats and search for clues about the assailant.”
