The College of Nursing Sciences, Eku, Delta state has matriculated 389 students, with a charge to be dedicated and committed to their academic journey.
The Provost of the College, Dr. Bassey Gloria, at the matriculation ceremony in Eku, Ethiope East local government area of the state, said that college has zero tolerance for sharp practices in the area of admission into the school.
Dr. Gloria said the her administration has moved the institution to an enviable height through the benevolence of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
According to her, “we are proud to say with all humility that the management and staff have moved the college further through the benevolence of our dear Governor.”
She listed the her achievement to include, a block of hundred capacity classroom, 40 computers, fully equipped ICT lab with server, employment of new graduate nurses to strengthen man power and improvement in student’s academic performance amongst others.
”The matriculation is a basic academic requirement that is specifically designed for freshers of any higher institution at the completion of their first session.”
The journey of the college dated far back in 1956 when it was moved from Ogbomoso to Eku with the efforts of Dr. Canning, Mrs Elearno Howel the first Nurse monga others.
In her remarks, the Director of Nursing Services in the state, Mrs Atikpo Mercy, charged the students to be dedicated and persevere saying the institution is committed to equipping them with required knowledge.

She advised the students to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, cultivate critical thinking, creativity and team work, uphold the ethics and standard of the nursing profession.
