Dafinone Commends Oborevwori’s Infrastructure Drive at Otovwodo Flyover Flag-Off

Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District, has warmly received Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at the historic flag-off ceremony of the Otovwodo Flyover in Ughelli, describing the project as a major landmark in the ongoing transformation of Delta State’s urban landscape.

In a statement issued to commemorate the event, the senator praised Governor Oborevwori for his far-reaching infrastructure development efforts across the state. He noted that the governor’s approach to governance reflects a forward-thinking commitment to development that transcends political divisions. According to Dafinone, the Otovwodo Flyover represents more than a physical structure, as it embodies a purposeful strategy to reposition Delta State for long-term and sustainable growth.

He recalled that the Otovwodo junction has for many years been a major traffic choke point, often plagued by heavy congestion that disrupts daily movement and slows down economic activities. The senator expressed optimism that the completion of the flyover would greatly improve traffic flow, ease the movement of people and goods, reduce travel time, and boost commercial activities in Ughelli and surrounding communities.

Dafinone stated that improved transportation and logistics would attract new investments into Delta Central while strengthening Ughelli’s role as a key commercial and trade hub in the state. He added that strategic infrastructure projects of this nature are vital for stimulating the local economy and improving the overall quality of life of residents.

The lawmaker further described the flyover project as tangible proof of Governor Oborevwori’s resolve to deliver on his campaign promises through the MORE Agenda. He emphasized that the administration has consistently focused on projects that have direct and meaningful impact on the everyday lives of citizens, particularly in enhancing accessibility, safety, and economic opportunities.

While calling on residents to take ownership of the project, Senator Dafinone urged Deltans to maintain peace and cooperation, stressing that collective support is crucial for the smooth and timely execution of developmental initiatives across the state. He noted that unity among the people would help bring the vision of a more prosperous Delta State to fruition.

He also encouraged citizens to continue supporting the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress, explaining that strong collaboration between state and federal governments remains essential for economic stability, infrastructure development, and sustainable national growth.
