Deaconess Oborevwori inaugurates Isoko North LGA Chapel, urges commitment to God

The wife of Delta State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, has urged Christians not to forsake their commitment to God. She conveyed this message on Wednesday during the inauguration of a Chapel built within the Secretariat of Isoko North Local Government Area by the Council’s Chairman, Deacon Christian Iteire.

Deaconess Oborevwori said that the project should serve as a reminder to Christians of their responsibilities in the House of God, irrespective of their societal roles.

The founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation thanked the council chairman for conceiving and successfully completing the chapel, emphasizing that it was an honour for him to establish a place of worship for God.

Deaconess Oborevwori said, “Today, we are here to celebrate the expansion of the Kingdom of God. The Church is recognized as a place where people of all tribes and classes come together to offer their supplications before God. It is a place where solutions to problems are sought, a sanctuary for fellowship among the saints.

“This project serves as a wake-up call, reminding us of our duties in the House of God. I implore those attending worship here: let it not be business as usual. This is not a political space but the house of the living God. As you serve God in this place, you will witness His wonders in Jesus’ name.

“We are facing challenging times in our nation; this is the time to be faithful and sincere in serving God. Our positions should not lead us away from the presence of God; there are numerous benefits in serving the Lord. I pray that we flourish and harvest greatly this season.”

The governor’s wife renamed the chapel, initially named after her, to Trinity Chapel and declared the worship center as a “mountain of solution where sorrows will be turned to joy.”

Earlier, the council chairman, Deacon Iteire, explained that he decided to construct the Chapel to “serve as a place of worship for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by the Officials and Staff of the Local Government Council, as well as for the hosting of other Christian gatherings.”

The event, attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, clergymen, and other dignitaries from within and outside the local government area, featured songs of praise, prayers, a sermon, dedication of the altar, and goodwill messages.
