Civil servants in Delta State have been urged to give their full backing to the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as it continues to implement the MORE Agenda aimed at sustainable development.
The charge was given by the wife of the Governor and Founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, while hosting members of the Forum of Female Permanent Secretaries at Government House, Asaba.
In her address, Deaconess Oborevwori described the female permanent secretaries as seasoned professionals who have earned their positions through commitment, competence and integrity in public service. She praised them for the leadership roles they play across various ministries, noting that their rise to the top of the civil service reflects discipline, resilience and excellence.
She encouraged them to remain united, adhere strictly to the rules and ethics guiding the civil service, and continue to serve as positive role models for younger women aspiring to leadership positions.
The Governor’s wife stressed that women in leadership are crucial to effective policy implementation, institutional stability and nation-building, adding that their contributions are essential to the overall success of the Oborevwori administration. She therefore appealed for continued support and prayers for the government to enable it deliver greater dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
Speaking on behalf of the forum, its leader and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal, Mrs. Charity Ehimen, commended the programmes of the You Matter Charity Foundation, describing them as impactful and people-focused.
Mrs. Ehimen expressed the forum’s willingness to partner with the Governor’s wife through relevant ministries, particularly in areas of special needs advocacy and educational support. The forum also applauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his gender-inclusive approach to governance under the MORE Agenda, noting that the state has made notable progress in achieving gender balance within the civil service during his tenure.
Also in attendance was the Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Minie Oseji. The visit concluded with the presentation of a souvenir to the forum by Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori.
