DELSAN hails Oborevwori for bursary payment

Delta State Law Students Association of Nigeria (DELSAN), has appreciated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the payment of bursary to the 2022/2023 alumni set of students of the state origin at the Nigerian Law School.

The law students, in a letter signed by DELSAN National President, Akosa Daniels and erstwhile National President, Innocent Ighoawworua, lauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his exemplary leadership, commitment to education and development of human resources.

The letter reads in part: “Your administration’s investment in human development is a testament to your vision for a brighter future for our state.

“The bursary grant has brought immense relief, motivation and hope to the Delta State Students who were recently called to the Nigerian Bar between the 5th, 6th, and 7th of March, 2024, as confirmed Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, enabling some of us to pursue further academic desires and others to further our career goals, without financial burden.

“It would interest His Excellency to know that the Best Male Graduate of the Nigerian Law School 2022/2023 Graduating set, Umukoro, Nyerovwo Godstime Esq., is an indigene of Delta State.

“We would also like to bring to your notice that Delta State had more than 10 First Class graduates from the 251 First Class graduates who were called to Bar; making our State a force to reckon with. All these are immense reflections of the results of your commitment to, and investment in education.

“We acknowledge and appreciate your recognition of education’s pivotal role in shaping our state’s future, your unwavering commitment to students’ and graduates’ welfare and development, and your proactive measures to address financial constraints hindering academic success.

“This gesture has rekindled our faith in your leadership capacity and vision, which has inspired us to excel academically and to break further boundaries, knowing that we have your backing.

“We pledge to make the most of this opportunity, becoming productive citizens and contributors to the development and progress of Delta State and beyond and making Delta State proud at all times”.
