According to Collins, the legislation is intended to streamline gaming regulations, strengthen oversight, boost revenue generation, and safeguard the interests of stakeholders.
He added that the committee will receive both written and oral submissions from key government institutions, including the Ministries of Trade and Investments, Finance, Economic Planning, and Justice, as well as the Delta State Investment Development Agency (DIDA), the Board of Internal Revenue, the Sports Commission, the Signage and Advertisement Agency, the Nigerian Bar Association, and other players in the gaming industry.
Collins encouraged members of the public and relevant organisations to take part in the process by submitting memoranda to help shape a balanced and effective legal framework for gaming in the state.
All memoranda must be submitted in twenty copies, sealed and addressed to the Chairman, House Committee on Trade and Investments, and clearly marked “Delta State Gaming Board Bill, 2025 (HB. 35).” Submissions should reach the Committee Clerk, Mr. Oge Ogana, on or before Monday, February 23, 2026.
