The Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA) on Tuesday screened and confirmed three nominees for appointment into the Delta State Judicial Service Commission (DSJSC).
Those confirmed are Chief Joseph Obiananma Ojobu, representing the Nigerian Bar Association; Chief James Omanudinowho Obeuwou, representing Delta South Senatorial District; and Barrister Fun-Ebi Edonyabo, also representing Delta South.
While Chief Ojobu and Chief Obeuwou were reappointed for a second term on the commission, Barr. Edonyabo is joining the body for the first time.
The nominees were presented before the House by their respective lawmakers and underwent screening. After the exercise, they were accorded the traditional legislative courtesy of “taking a bow and leave.”
The motion for their confirmation was moved by the House Leader, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, and was unanimously adopted by members of the Assembly.
Speaking after their confirmation, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, congratulated the appointees and urged them to carry out their responsibilities diligently and in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.
It will be recalled that Governor Oborevwori had earlier forwarded the names of the three nominees to the Assembly for screening and confirmation.
