The Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission has kicked off its 2025 end-of-year retreat, themed “Parliamentary Administration for Optimal Service Delivery,” aimed at strengthening legislative bureaucracy and enhancing lawmaking efficiency.
The two-day programme, which commenced on Monday at the Mariam Babangida Leisure Park in Asaba, drew the commission’s top management team.
In his opening remarks, Commission Chairman, Mr. Sunday Ebiriere stressed the need for a robust legislative framework to boost effectiveness in the state House of Assembly.
“The retreat will review our performance, assess existing structures, and devise strategies for better service delivery,” Ebiriere said, while expressing gratitude to Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and Speaker Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor for their unwavering support. He added that the event would foster leadership and collaboration among participants.

The Delta State Assembly Service Commission Secretary, Barr. Austin Uwasike, noted that the training would equip members with essential knowledge to deliver optimal services to the legislature and other government arms.
Commission members, including Mr. Andrew Ukavbe, Chief Timothy Umuokoro, Chief Innocent Okofu, and Chief Moses Onowu, hailed the retreat as vital for improving administrative efficiency.
Participants praised Ebiriere and his team for organising the programme, saying the insights gained would sharpen their skills.
They also commended the governor and speaker for approving the capacity-building initiative, pledging greater commitment to efficient workplace delivery.
