Delta Assembly dismisses petition against health commissioner

The Delta State House of Assembly has dismissed a petition alleging unlawful transfer of Mr. Daniel Ebo by the Commissioner for Health.

The petition was deemed baseless and lacking merit, according to a report presented by Hon. Matthew Omonade, Chairman of the Public Petitions Committee.

During plenary, presided over by the Delta Speaker Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, Hon. Omonade stated that the committee’s investigation found the petitioner’s claims to be unsubstantiated.

“After careful analysis and investigation of the available evidences presented by the Petitioner as well as both first and second respondents, it was clear that the Petitioner was unable to substantiate his claims,” Hon. Omonade said.

The committee recommended that the house discountenance the petition, a decision supported by lawmakers Hon. Charles Emetulu and Hon. James Augoye, who commended the committee for its thorough investigation.

The House unanimously supported the dismissal, with Speaker Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor directing the Clerk to communicate the resolution to relevant authorities.
