The Nigeria Branch of the International Law Association (ILA) has admitted the Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr. Wilfred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Esq., as a full member of the Association.
The confirmation was conveyed in a letter signed by the Membership Coordinator, Mr. Abraham Adeniran, which noted that Dr. Oghenesivbe now belongs to an elite group of legal scholars and practitioners engaged in research, knowledge development, capacity building, and the preparation of reports on critical areas of international law.
Established in Brussels in 1873, the International Law Association is a globally recognised body devoted to the advancement, clarification, and development of both public and private international law.
ILA operates through more than 68 branches worldwide, with a membership exceeding 5,400 professionals across all continents, and maintains consultative status with several United Nations specialised agencies.
According to ILA Nigeria, Dr. Oghenesivbe has been assigned to the Business and Human Rights Committee, which is chaired by Dr. Oyeniyi Abe, a lecturer in Human Rights, Dispute Resolution, and Commercial Law at the College of Law, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti.
In his reaction, Dr. Oghenesivbe expressed gratitude to the leadership of the ILA Nigeria Branch and the Membership Committee for the confidence reposed in him.
He described the admission as a privilege and reaffirmed his dedication to public service, stating that he would continue to contribute to the promotion of justice, human rights, international law, and diplomacy alongside his responsibilities as Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications.
He further acknowledged the support of the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, JP, commending his strong commitment to human capital development and the continuous expansion of knowledge across sectors.
Dr. Oghenesivbe also serves as a member of the Delta State Taskforce Against Human Trafficking and Irregular Migration, the Institute of Legal and Policy Strategy, the Nigerian Bar Association (Ikeja Branch), and the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, among other professional organisations.
He possesses multiple academic qualifications spanning Law, Political Science, Public and International Affairs, Mass Communication, Public Administration, Information and Strategy Management, reflecting his broad intellectual and professional background.
