A leading youth organisation in Delta Central, known as Youths for Proactive Governance, has unanimously urged the Senator representing the Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, to run for a second term in the 2027 elections.
The endorsement came after a joint meeting of the group’s leaders from the eight local government areas that make up the district. The meeting was recently held in Adeje, Okpe Local Government Area, and was chaired by the group’s President, Comrade Blessing Udoh, with Benjamin Egwe acting as Secretary.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the youths described Senator Dafinone as a strong-performing first-term lawmaker who has shown commitment, dedication, and genuine passion for serving the people of Delta Central. They appealed to residents across the district to support his re-election so he can build on the progress made during his first term in office.
The group said the senator has been active and impactful at the National Assembly, sponsoring and supporting bills they described as people-focused and aligned with the needs and aspirations of his constituents. According to them, his work in the Red Chamber has been marked by courage, clear vision, and a results-oriented approach.
They also praised Senator Dafinone for his empowerment programmes and for consistently recommending qualified Urhobo youths for employment opportunities at various levels. In addition, they commended his efforts in facilitating promotions and recognition for deserving sons and daughters of the Urhobo Nation, particularly those from Delta Central, across different sectors.
“We, the youths of Delta Central, are using this opportunity to strongly appeal to Senator Ede Dafinone to seek a second term so he can continue the good work entrusted to him for the benefit of his people,” the group stated.
They added that since taking office, the senator has stood out as a vocal, pragmatic, and well-organised legislator whose leadership reflects accountability and responsiveness to the needs of his constituents.
“In the areas of empowerment, representation, and advocacy, Senator Dafinone has performed commendably. We therefore call on the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District to re-elect him in 2027,” the statement concluded.
Senator Dafinone is widely viewed across the district as a people-centred leader whose influence and political reach extend across the eight local government areas of Delta Central and beyond.
