It was a proud and joyous day in Umuseti Community, Utagba Uno, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, as two of its respected sons, Ogbuiji Elvis Kaine and Chief Chris Onah, were honored with traditional titles in recognition of their dedication, integrity, and leadership.
The ceremony took place on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the historic Obi Ndueze — the ancient traditional square of the Utagba Uno people. The event attracted distinguished community members from all seven quarters, along with the Inotu Council, who oversaw the conferment.
Ogbuiji Elvis Kaine was bestowed the esteemed title of Eze Ajieh of Utagba Uno, a role traditionally given to men known for their impeccable character and significant contributions to preserving the community’s heritage. This title, previously held by prominent figures like Rear Admiral (Rtd.) Chief Mike Onah, stands as a symbol of honor, wisdom, and service to the people.
In a statement on behalf of Umuseti Community and the Umu Ezeti Town Hall Platform, Coordinator Mr. Chuks Ododo congratulated Ogbuiji Kaine, calling the recognition well-deserved for his enduring commitment to community development. Ododo also encouraged the new Eze Ajieh to champion fairness and justice, safeguard communal lands, and foster unity within the community.
At the same event, Chief Chris Onah was crowned Eze Ugo I of Utagba Uno, a title reserved for leaders known for their humility, dedication, and commitment to the growth of their community. His installation was met with cheers and applause from friends, family, and community members, who called the occasion both historic and inspiring.
In a heartfelt message, Mr. Ododo praised Chief Onah’s humility and consistent service, saying his new title reflects the people’s trust in his leadership. He urged the new Eze Ugo I to continue guiding the community with courage and wisdom, promoting unity and shared prosperity across all parts of Utagba Uno.
Both titles carry deep significance in the traditions and governance of the Utagba Uno Kingdom. They represent a renewed dedication to service and a strong affirmation of traditional leadership as a cornerstone of community development.
