The Delta State Economic Team on Monday, August 5, carried out an inspection of coal mining operations and the proposed site of a power generation plant in Aniocha North Local Government Area.
The projects, driven by Mosra Energy Ltd., are expected to expand the state’s energy capacity, improve electricity supply in Aniocha North and surrounding communities, and spur industrial growth in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.
Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, Dr. Barry Gbe, led the delegation, which included Special Adviser on Investment Hon. George Orogun, Delta State Investment Development Agency DG Hon. Anthony, the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, senior officials, and executives of Mosra Energy Ltd.

During the visit, the team reviewed the mining site’s operations and laboratory facilities, and inspected erosion-affected sections of the Ukwunzu–Ugboba–Obomkpa road. Palliative works were noted at key points, including the NYSC Camp road in Issele-Uku.
The state government says the inspection underscores its push for private-sector-led infrastructure development that delivers lasting benefits to host communities and strengthens Delta’s energy base.
